Hello, hello, hello, hello, hello, John Mason. How is everybody? Yesterday, I had the pleasure of going to Independence Mall on Fifth and Market in Philadelphia. I toured the remnants of the executive mansion that George Washington dwelled in when the United States just newly free from British rule, and the Constitution was finally enacted. That was the official residence of the president for ten years. In eighteen ninety, Alexander Hamilton, the Secretary of the Treasury, offered the deal to this to all the states. If they approved the constitu the new Constitution with the Bill of Rights, the federal government would assume all the debts that the states accrued during the Revolutionary War. I'm sure there were it was considerable. I'm quite sure they didn't mind that bit of federal meddling, that piece of big government, but whatever. And it and the I tourity and the exhibit mentioned the very unpleasant facts about Washington. With all due respect, A, he was a slave owner. And he he had his slaves from Virginia, regularly rotated, working on the exe working working at the executive mansion. And in seventh 1793, I believe, he signed a fugitive slave law, this fugitive slave act, that authorized the entering into uh free states to to capture uh the former slaves and bring them back. But fortunately, free black people who had never been enslaved were caught in this and they became enslaved. And I kept going on on the tour, and then I entered a pavilion where they held the liberty bell. Yes, the yes, that great symbol of freedom and independence. Oh remnants of it, you'll be sure when they tried to uh repair the crack became like uh like uh holy relics. There's a cane and uh and a gold gold stud that had element had traces of the the Liberty Bell in them. They were on display. And then I saw the lip saw the uh video of uh the Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King mentioning let free with his let freedom reign, I have a dream speech. And then I saw it, the Liberty Bell crack and all. Are we cracked as a nation? Is our is our democracy cracked? Our l are our liberties cracked? Is our political system cracked? We have to make damn sure that we repair them. We we can't stand up to the fascist bullies that are trying to crack us, crack our nation. And I believe have every confidence that we can do it. Several states, several red states, several Trump voting states, have passed laws that was that supported the right of women to have an abortion. And also, I j I joined in a demonstration at the Liberty Bell. My brothers and sisters are SAGAFTRA, the Actors Union. Let's be honest. For every uh Margot Robbie or uh Ryan C. Ryan Seacrest or Matt Damon, there are thousands of of actors trying can't even make the minimum wage, trying to pay their bills, lucky if they can get a dog food commercial. Those are the people we have to support. See, it's not all glitz and glamour. It's serious work they do. I've done it a few times myself. So let's not let anybody divide us or crack us. We can't repair the Liberty Belt, but we can repair our nation. We can repair it by getting out there and vote on every election, primaries and general elections, from the president all the way down to state legislatures, county commissioners, county row house house row offices, the city councils, township supervisors, all that. They're all important. These little row offices at the municipal and county and level and the state legislatures are like starting off points, the jumping off points for very for political careers. And they want to get to elect higher office and a higher office and a higher office, which means they're all important. As you can see, a lot of Managle people have been running for office and actually winning because we haven't been paying attention. So let's pay attention. Let's set let's not let anybody crack our nation. Get out there and vote. Okay, that's it. And now advertisements. My novel Soldier of the Cross is available on Amazon.com. It is a story of David Lucas, who as a young man in the early 60s was a drunken, a whore chaser, and a school bully. He gets in trouble in the army, he becomes a born-again Christian, and tries to be a manly man for Jesus. Total totally fanatical, sincere fanatic. Let us study the past, the good, the bad, and the ugly. Let us indeed pay attention to the negative elements in our society, like the racism and the class oppression, the attempt to exterminate the indigenous peoples. But also, let us remember the freedom fighters, including the fighters against slavery, the fighters for women's rights, the fighters for workers to organize, and the sacrifices they made to to bring forth the freedoms which we enjoy and that are in danger at present. Just remember all our history, the good and the bad. And we're up to the challenge. We've been him once before, we'll beat him again. Thanks. Have a nice weekend. Shabbat Shalom. Bye.
