I speak about the so-called "Christian Zionists," and of a need for a public-sector OSHA law in Pennsylvania.

Hello, hello, hello, John Mason. How is everybody? I hope you're all doing well. I've been hearing that supposedly we Jews are supposed to have some sort of friend in the so-called among the Christian evangelical community. Some of them even calling themselves Christian Zionists and are showing their support for us and for Israel. And I take their support, so-called, as well, with a grain of salt. They don't impress me. See, these are the same people who how about their religious freedom rights being taken away while they're taking away other people's religious rights. They're the same people who want to ban books from schools and libraries because of what they don't like, the content they don't like. They're the same people who who encourage the terrorization of gays and trans and trans people, particularly youth. And the same people, and they're the same people who, if one of their own, one of the leader of theirs, like a pastor or a youth camp counselor, sexually molests them, they move heaven and earth to cover it up. And these are the same people who want the Jews to come back to our ancestral homeland. A worthy enough cause. And then, but that's a precondition for the second coming of Christ as they see it. And their idea, Jesus will come back. Actually, uh to them, all the Christians, the truly believing Christ-believing Christians, will be raptured up into the heavens. At least we won't be, at least we'll be rid of them finally. And the rest of us sinners include who didn't believe, including us Jews, will have to go through the torments and sufferings of the tribulation. In other words, or patsies for them. Pause and a little game. They really don't care about us for real. They're the same people who will hound us and pester us to uh to to s see that Jesus was the Messiah all along. Uh spoil spoiler alert he wasn't. And I remember growing up with some of these folks and their perception of the world is so limited. Bob Marley must have been thinking of these guys when he sang his redemption song. Emancipate yourselves yourselves from mental slavery. None but ourselves could free our minds. They're very narrow-minded, obnoxious people. Probably nice people, but they didn't go overboard. I suggest walking as far away from him as possible. And brings to mind John Chen. You might faintly remember him. It was in 2018, and and John Chen was a was a missionary from Georgia. He was so full of missionary zeal, a zeal for Christ, to preach the gospel to every creature on the planet. And so he thought it was his duty to Christ to try to smuggle himself over into the Signal Islands. The Signal Islands are populated by a people living as they did some 30,000 years ago, 30, 35,000 years ago. They have had no contact with the outside world. They don't want contact with the outside world, and their international laws and treaties making damn sure no one contacts them. They're one of the few remaining uh so-called uncontacted people, and international rules and laws make damn sure they stay uncontacted. Well, John Chen decided he was going to contact them after all. He made his way uh to the island bearing a fish and screaming about how Jesus loves him before taking a poison arrow. I don't know what happened to the body, but that's how willfully ignorant and self-centered they are. Everything revolves around them. And Lord knows I grew up in such a milieu. Like I said, stay as far as there's some reports that during the Cold War the um the CIA used uh missionary uh efforts, missionary programs as as uh fronts for their espionage work. Maybe so, maybe not. But just stay away from them. And now I must talk about another serious issue. In the Pennsylvania State Senate, there is this there's this law, a bill going around. In the House, it started out as House Bill 299, the Jake Schwab Workers' Safety Act, is now currently in the Senate. And the fact is nearly 600,000 Pennsylvania sub public sector workers, including uh state and county and public school district employees, and municipal and county employees, and law enforcement, first responders, public transit, fire and rescue, municipal employees, are not covered by federal OSHA. Some states have OSHA-like laws in place for their for their public sector workers, but not Pennsylvania. We are certainly not less than. We are not inferior to anybody. And the fact is, six thousand seven hundred workers annually are killed on the job nationwide. Reporting of injuries, illnesses, and deaths are not mandatory in Pennsylvania's public sector, and the voluntary reporting is so minimal the Department of L and I cannot release it. Public workers are not covered by federal OSHA, like I said, but this bill will make damn sure they are. Of course, there's a stereotype of public sector workers as lazy slugs, uh working glorified welfare recipients, etc. But these are men and women who have I've worked with, I've been one of them just trying to eke a living for themselves and their families. Food on the table, mortgage for the house. That's all they're asking for. And they need protection. They are worthy of protection. So, my friends in Pennsylvania, I urge you to uh to contact your state senator and tell them support the public sector OSHA bill. Okay. Okay, that's the end of my rant for now. I urge you spend the time with your loved ones. If you have to go, I mean, I mean that's what holidays are for. Being with your loved ones. And if you simply must buy stuff for the holidays, please consider purchasing from uh from locally based uh uh businesses like uh buy shoes from locally based stores, your books from local bookstores, your cakes and pies from local bakeries.
